Speakers Trust

Trustee of a charity providing public speaking training for young people

By: Martin Thomas

The Speakers Trust transforms the lives of hundreds of thousands of young people in the UK by giving them the skills and confidence to speak in public and make their voices heard. This opens-up opportunities in education and the workplace and breaks down many of the barriers facing young people in disadvantaged communities, including the homeless, young carers and those in pupil referral units.

In addition to the typical trustee responsibilities, including safeguarding, I advise the organisation on how to use marketing to achieve its goals, especially fundraising.
